Man bailed in connection with Burnham murder probe

Police investigating the alleged murder of a father and husband from Burnham have bailed a man arrested in connection with the incident.

A 61-year-old man, from Burnham, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday and has been released on police bail until Friday, September 2.


Two men arrested in connection with Salt Hill Park rape

Two men from Slough have been arrested in connection with a rape which happened in Salt Hill Park.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and is in police custody.


Family pays tribute after 'miracle man' Tom Twitchen passes away

A loving family has paid tribute to ‘miracle man’ Tom Twitchen after he passed away following a long battle with cancer.

The 26-year-old died due to complications after battling the disease for more than three years on Monday, August 8.


Appeal after rape victim sees attacker 25 years later

A fresh appeal has been made over a historic rape case after the victim was approached by a man she believes was her attacker 25 years later.

Detectives have released an e-fit of a man in connection with the rape of a 13-year-old girl in March 1991. The case remains unsolved after it was first reported to police on May 30, 2013.


Security concerns after man is shot at festival held at Windsor Racecourse

Criticism has been levelled at the security of a festival at Windsor Racecourse where a man was shot at the weekend.

The Tea Party Festival, which took place on Saturday, saw partygoers rave for 10 hours at the racecourse to the sound of top DJs including Sigma and Radio 1Xtra’s Mista Jam.


Armed motorcycle raiders strike at pawnbrokers

Police are hunting a gang of armed robbers who struck at a pawnbrokers in Slough this morning.

The four men pulled up on two motorcycles outside H&T Pawnbrokers in the High Street at about 10am.

The cafe in Burnham Beeches was robbed on Friday at 5.30pm.


Tributes paid to firefighter who helped tackle Windsor Castle blaze

Tributes have been paid to a former firefighter and grandfather who has died after more than 30 years service with the fire brigade.

Nicholas Jell, also known as Nicky, joined Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) aged just 21 and over the course of 29 years racked up numerous commendations, before being forced to quit the front line due to illness.

Michelin-starred chef Alain Roux has been stirring up controversy in Bray after neighbours objected to his replacement ‘plastic’ windows.

The son of celebrity chef Michel Roux recently replaced the windows on a property he owns in The Terrace, just down the road from The Waterside Inn where he is chef-patron.
