Staff threatened with knife during robbery at Burnham Beeches cafe

Reports of violent crime to Thames Valley Police increased by 30 per cent in last year

Staff at a cafe in Burnham Beeches were threatened with a knife during a daylight armed robbery on Friday.

At about 5.30pm, a man armed with a knife approached the counter at the Beeches Cafe in Lord Mayors Drive.

He threatened staff and stole cash from the till and safe before leaving on a mountain bike in the direction of the woods away from the main road.

No one was injured.

The robber is described as 5ft 11ins, white, slim and aged approximately in his forties. He was wearing glasses underneath a black balaclava, a white baseball cap with red and black details, a white long sleeved top with blue lines on it and black tracksuit bottoms.

He was riding a silver mountain bike with black writing on it.
