Tom Kerridge announces pop-up cinema in Marlow

Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has announced his latest project – a pop-up cinema.

Throughout December, the man behind the double Michelin-starred Hand and Flowers pub, in Marlow, is set to transform the former Assembly Room cafe, in Market Square, into a picture house.

And naturally, some of the best offerings of the silver screen will be paired with some of the town’s best silver service, with dishes such as traditionally made lasagne served up with a side of the Italian Job.

The Pop Up Picture House, as it will be known, is the brain child of Kerridge, as well as Mark James of Unicorn Productions, Chris Hughes of Brand Events and Ben Phillips of Steamer Trading, all of whom live in the town.

Launching on Thursday, December 1, tickets for screenings, which are expected to include everything from cult hits, to Christmas classics and family favourites, will include a two-course meal and interval ice-cream.

Chris Hughes, managing director of Brand Events, said: “The four of us decided that our favourite times at Christmas involve great food and great movies.

“We thought we'd share that with lots of friends in Marlow.”

The old Assembly Room cafe, above the Steamer Trading Cookshop, which will host the new venture, closed in November last year after originally opening in 2011.

Tickets are due to go on sale Tuesday, November 8.
