MAIDENHEAD UNITED JUNIORS

Maidenhead United Juniors u11s Magpies played their first game in a month in a closely contested clash with Heart of Bracknell Razors.

Manager Darren reflected on a ‘great start for the Magpies who looked strong and confident in taking an early lead’. A great cross from Oli found Brandon who tucked the ball away.

Brandon took control of the situation to score his second, with the ball bouncing around in the area, and

although chances fell to both sides some great defending ensured neither team was able to edge ahead in the closing stages. Sam was named player of the match (POTM).

Niall earned man of the match for the Cobras u11s in their game. Manager Karen said: “It made me smile again. Niall in goal was positive from start to finish and powered the ball up the pitch. It was a great sense of family fun and we had a nice late breakfast after.”

The u12s Jets bounced back to beat the Aylesbury Whites. Braces from Sam, Stan and Brodie, and a well taken goal from Jude, saw them take control. Maks was named POTM.

The u13s Whites (pictured) progressed to another final in the league cup – although it’s unlikely they’ll now get to play it. They knocked out a talented Twyford team to get there.

Coach Kevin summed up their achievements by saying: “We have reached two cup finals and sit top of Division 1.

“Well done all who played as always. I’m delighted to say that Lennon has been offered a six-week trial at Chelsea.”

MAIDENHEAD UNITED YOUTH

Maidenhead United’s u19s academy fixtures have been postponed by the Academy League until further notice.

The league’s management committee met on Monday morning to discuss the coronavirus pandemic and agreed that all fixtures in the National League u19s Alliance, including National League Football Academy Divisions and Academy Cup matches, will be suspended with immediate effect.

The situation will be monitored regularly and the club’s management team and players will be kept abreast of any decisions that are made.

Maidenhead United Women’s home game at Exeter City on Sunday was also postponed due to COVID-19, with the club claiming the health and well-being of the players, staff, match officials and spectators was of paramount importance.
