He’s back. A teaser trailer has been released for David Brent’s film debut in Life on the Road.
The film catches up with Brent twelve years on from the BBC mockumentary The Office to find him working as a travelling salesman with Lavichem, a cleaning and ladies’ personal hygiene products company.
However, the Brentmeister General has not given up on his dream of rock stardom and is about to embark on a self-financed UK tour with his band, Foregone Conclusion.
Assembling a group of session musicians and talented rapper Dom (Ben Bailey Smith) in an attempt to gain street cred, Brent cashes in his pensions and takes unpaid leave in a bid to turn his dream into reality, taking one last shot at fame and fortune.
Ricky Gervais first introduced his cult character to the world in 2001 as the regional manager at fictional paper merchant Wernham Hogg in The Office, famously set in Slough.
Gervais, who also wrote Extras and Derek, was filming in Slough in December as he revealed the movie would include a first look inside the home of the great entertainer, boss and friend.
The film is set for release on August 19. Watch the trailer below. (Warning: Contains sexual content)
