Ant and Dec to host coverage of the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations

Ant and Dec will present live coverage of the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations later this year.

Windsor Castle will play host to a four day celebration, running between Thursday, May 12 and Sunday, May 15.

The celebrations will tell the story of the Queen’s life, from her birth in 1926, through the Second World War, to her Coronation in 1953 and a reign spanning more than 60 years.

Some of the biggest names in entertainment will be joined by The Oman Royal Cavalry, Chilean Huasos, The New Zealand Army Band, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and many more.

ITV is set to broadcast the event, but is yet to announce a date.

Ant and Dec said: “We are honoured to be hosting this special celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th Birthday.

“This spectacular evening will bring together some of the best known names in the entertainment world who will perform with 900 horses and 1,500 participants to mark this very special birthday.”

ITV’s director of entertainment and comedy Elaine Bedell said: “We are delighted to be celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th Birthday with this stunning evening of entertainment.

“With Ant and Dec hosting this special event, viewers will get to enjoy the very best of British talent along side some remarkable performers in celebration of the Queen’s landmark birthday.”

The event went on sale in November and sold out online within hours, with tickets ranging from £55 to £195 and money raised going to charity.
