PICTURED: First look at site map for Spencers Farm plans

A site map showing how a new community campus proposed for Spencers Farm in Maidenhead could be laid out has been revealed.

It would be the home of Furze Platt Senior School if permission is granted by the Royal Borough to move the facility from its current site in Furze Platt Road.

The school is working with Spencers Farm land owner Summerleaze - owned by multi-millionaire Peter Prior - on the plans which also include 700 homes.

Of those, 320 are expected to be built at Spencers Farm and 380 would replace the old school buildings.

The new community campus would also be the home of various sports clubs and facilities.

Submissions have been made by both the school and Summerleaze for the scheme to be included in the Borough Local Plan.

A formal planning application does not yet exist.

The plans are being opposed by Maidenhead North Action Group, who have submitted a petition with 2,342 signatures to the council.
