Non elite adult football suspended until further notice after region is moved into tier 4

Non-elite adult football from steps three and down has been immediately halted due to new tighter, tier 4, coronavirus restrictions which were announced by the Government on Saturday.

League football will continue behind closed doors, as will the National League at Premier and North and South levels, however, matches are no longer permitted for sides in steps 3-6 of the National League system.

The new restrictions came into force on December 20 and directly impact Marlow FC in the Isthmian South Central Division, Flackwell Heath, Windsor and Burnham in the Hellenic Premier Division and Holyport in Hellenic League Division 1 East.

All Thames Valley Premier League matches, involving the likes of Marlow United, Cookham Dean and Maidenhead Town have also been postponed for the time being.

These rules also apply to tiers 3-7 of the Women’s Football Pyramid, the Regional NLS Feeder Leagues; The Barclays FA WSL Academy League; the FA Girls Regional Talent Clubs [unless under elite status] and indoor and outdoor grassroots football.

The Women’s FA Cup is also classified as ‘non-elite’ at this stage, so ties are currently unable to be played unless restrictions are eased.

There is though special dispensation for organised u18s and disabled sport to continue in some form.
