Marlow RFC are in a position now to schedule the installation of new posts at Riverwoods after the club met its £9,000 fundraising target.
Last week club chairman Jez Povey told supporters that £3,118 had been raised on the club’s JustGiving and club fundraising pages, while the 200 Club also donated £5,381, bringing the total to £8,499.
A final fundraising push helped the club get over the line and Marlow now has £10,121 in its coffers for the project.
The club was due to meet with contractors who will install the posts on Monday.
“Despite all the challenges that COVID-19 has thrown at us we have been able to move forward with our plans,” said Povey.
“As you will have read earlier in the week we also commence senior rugby training this week, albeit under strong compliance to government and RFU guidelines.
"So the green shoots of progress towards the day that we can fully open our club are clearly visible.”
