Claires Court School 1st XV regained the David Course Challenge Cup on Wednesday of last week with a 43-0 victory over Desborough College at Braywick.

Fielding a vastly more experienced side – featuring nine boys that contested the fixture as Year 11 students last time it was played two years ago – Claires Court began the fixture as clear favourites.

From the first whistle they demonstrated exactly why they were favourites and stormed into a 22-0 lead after 12 minutes.

The Desborough defence held firm for the rest of the half to remain within touching distance at the break.

Claires Court then moved through the gears again in the second half to add another 21 points to their tally, sealing a comfortable victory.

The David Course Memorial match is played each year in memory of David Course, former deputy head of Claires Court. The fixture is contested against Desborough College, the school he attended.

After 10 matches the series is tied at five games each.
