Phoenix wrapped up the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Championship title by beating Littlemore 55-15 on Saturday after a virtually faultless campaign saw them win 17 of their 18 league matches.
Phoenix adopted an expansive game and soon Bradley Coomber dashed over for an early try, converted by Townsend.
The visitors took advantage of turnover ball to score a second outwide through Winters.
Littlemore fought back with a well-taken try from a lineout drive, but Austin Leavy entered the backline to take the ball on and pass it to Russell for another score out wide.
Coomber glided through the hosts’ increasingly porous defence for the fourth before the home side hit back with a second try.
Leavy dashed through for a fifth try shortly after half-time and, as the temperature rose, Winters settled the contest as he brushed off several tackles to score under the posts.
A further try from Leavy, to complete his hat-trick, finished off a dominant display by the champions.
*Phoenix 2nds edged to a narrow 10-7 victory over bottom-placed Thatcham 2nds.
Phoenix won by only three points but dominated from the outset, winning nearly every scrum and lineout, but they weren’t able to turn territory into points.
They eventually broke the deadlock when McKeown raced through for a score which was converted by Robbie Henwood.
Thatcham hit back with a converted try of their own, but Henwood kept his cool in the latter s tages to slot over a crucial penalty.
