Marlow celebrated their 100th Club Finals day in fine conditions as many came along to watch the bowls on display.

In somewhat testing conditions with a dry hot atmosphere and a variable playing surface, Ann White played excellent bowls winning in four finals.

White remained composed in the weather proceeding to win the Ladies Handicap Pairs with Angela Moss and later claim victory against her partner twice in the 2 wood and Championship singles that concluded Finals Day.

In the men’s game, Stewart Rump won the 2 wood encounter against Andy Savin and also beat Mike Woolams to win the Men’s Championship Singles.

Rump and partner Dave “Courtney” White could not pull off a win in the Championship Pairs however, taking the runners up spot to Brian Jones and Dave Turner.

In the Dorset Cup, Trevor Pounds beat Bob Perrin 21 - 18 and Jo Perry narrowly beat Annie Mindry in the Ladies Novice final 23 – 18.

A thrilling trip to Waddesdon ensued for the triples team of Bob Broad, Roger Turpie and Andy Savin as they firstly beat Hazells in the county Benevolent Triples semi final in a see saw encounter and then went on to beat Bletchley in the final.
