Shanly Homes issues battle cry ahead of Cracker Challenge

A Maori Haka-style battle cry and team dance will be put on by the team from Shanly Homes at this summer’s Cracker Challenge to scare off the other competitors.

The team from the property developer has been training hard and is hoping it will be able to bring home the title after the sporting challenge on Thursday, June 30.

The Cracker Challenge is a fundraising event for the Advertiser’s Cracker Appeal that raises money to support community groups in the area.

Run in partnership with the Magnet Leisure Centre, the challenge will be held at SportsAble in Braywick Park. The teams of eight will take on a number of sporting events for 15 minutes each, including five-a-side football and volleyball, with the team with the highest score being crowned the 2016 Charity Challenge Champions.

Tamra Booth, operations director for the Shanly Group, said: “We are very much looking forward to the summer charity challenge. Not only is it a fantastic team-building event but it supports the Cracker Appeal – an extremely worthwhile cause which helps so many people in Maidenhead and Windsor.  

“Since our victory at the Christmas Cracker Challenge our team have been undergoing a strict training regime along with an even stricter diet and mental well-being programme. 

“We’ve based our team dance and battle cry on the Haka and we are ready to take on the competition. I have every confidence that they will do the company proud and bring home the cup.

The Shanly Homes team is made up of: Louise Franey, Katt Ainsworth, David Holmes, David Howells, Dale Nisbet, Tom Doughty and Chris Evans.
